SOUTH Mandurah Football Club product Shane Yarran helped guide Subiaco to back-to-back WAFL premierships on Sunday.
Yarran had just eight disposals but all were at goal with the talented forward slotting five goals to help Subiaco record a comfortable 21.10 (136) to 10.10 (70) win against West Perth.
It has been a remarkable turn around for Yarran who was only released from prison in March 2013 after serving a six-year sentence for burglary.
The 26-year-old has now won two premierships in his first two seasons at WAFL level.
In a close opening term Subiaco led by just one point but that lead blew out to 33 points at half-time on the back of a seven-goal quarter.
Another seven-goal quarter saw Subiaco lead by 59 points at three-quarter time with the win all but sewn up.
Yarran was one of two focal points in the forward line was Subiaco with Simpson Medal winner as the best player on the ground, Matthew Boland kicking seven goals.
Yarran has enjoyed another great season at Subiaco after kicking 39 goals from 20 games in his first season of WAFL football last year after playing with South Mandurah in 2013.
This year Yarran has improved on his tally kicking 54 goals from 19 games, his biggest bag of the year coming in round eight against Perth where he kicked six goals.
Along with his five-goal haul in the grand final, Yarran has also kicked bags of five on two other occasions.
Yarran gained interest from AFL clubs last year and has once again been invited to the State Draft Combine on October 17 at HBF Arena this year.
