Police are investigating reports of an armed man in North Pinjarra this afternoon.

The alarm was raised just before noon with several police cars attending the area.
Residents were reportedly asked to stay indoors and vehicles were being stopped from entering the suburb.
Vehicle leaving were searched by police.
Students at a nearby primary school were understood to be kept indoors during the investigation.
Police have since scaled back the search for the man, but inquiries are continuing.
