Selected as a mobile defender at 192 centimetres with pick 31 in the 2012 National Draft, McIntosh has faced a number of injury setbacks in his short career but now fully fit looks set for a big 2015.
The 20-year-old broke into a strong Richmond team after solid form in the NAB Challenge.
With Richmond seeing McIntosh as a potential wingman due to his good endurance, that is where he spent time during the pre-season, collecting 15 disposals and laying four tackles against Port Adelaide to give supporters a glimpse into what he is capable of.
In Richmond’s final pre-season match against North Melbourne, McIntosh collected 17 disposals to be named among Richmond’s best.
The Tiger’s selection panel honoured his consistent form with the former Pinjarra Senior High School student named on a wing in tonight's encounter.
McIntosh received a one-year contract extension at the end of last season and his recent form suggests that could be extended further.
