In the under 13s event most of the riders stayed in a group until the final lap when a Midland Cycling Club rider attacked.
The bunch did not panic and the lone attacker was caught within sight of the line.
Peel rider Baden Grey launched a sprint with Joshua Howe to put a gap between themselves and the remaining riders though Joshua eventually got the edge to take the title from Baden.
In the under 15s race Peel’s Jordan Dawson was aggressive from the start and by the end of the first lap there was a breakaway group of four.
That group reduced to just two two laps later with Jordan joined by Sebastian Barrett from Midland.
After lapping all but one rider the Peel rider was knocked off by Sebastian.
The under 17s race was all about tactics with all riders watching favourite Craig Wiggins from the Albany Cycling Club.
However it was Bryce Lanigan from South West Cycling Club that rode away to take the title.
In the sprint for second Peel’s Tyler Lindorff looked good, only to lose it on the line to Wiggins and Kye Bonser to finish fourth. Conor Leahy from Peel finished ninth.
The masters’ event was an aggressive race with 45 riders starting the race and only 15 riders finishing.
When riders were lapped on the 800-metre course they had to withdraw.
One of the main instigators was Peel’s Luke Pledger, who was constantly attacking, and with a little over a lap to go Pledger attacked and stayed away to win.
Pledger then backed up by starting in the next race, the open men’s championship and finished a very credible 8th behind former world tour professional Graeme Browne.
