A POLICE officer convicted of illegally using his restricted computer says he may leave the force to work in another field.

Lloyd Derek Whiteford was granted a spent conviction after he accessed his personal information on the restricted police computer system on two separate occasions.
The court heard Mr Whiteford had left his family home and was trying to see if his licence address was correct when he illegally accessed the information.
When caught by police Mr Whiteford, a current traffic officer, declined to be interviewed.
He was not stood down from duties when charged.
Facing a maximum $24,000 fine or 24 months jail for the two offences, Magistrate Vivien Edwards said the 45-year-old father of four misused his power as a serving officer, but it was at the lower end of the scale.
Mr Whiteford was fined $4000 plus court costs.
