IF PEOPLE getting off rides looking a little green around the gills is a ringing endorsement of an attraction's scare-factor, then this year's Perth Royal Show looks set to be a thriller.
At a special preview on Friday, 40 lucky competition winners got to test out this year's new rides.
One of the most popular, Freak Out, pulls up to 5Gs of power while swinging and swirling its riders 25 metres off the ground.
It's fast and loud, but not as terrifying as Speed 2 which flings riders sky-high at 100km/h.
Also not for the faint-hearted is the Star Flyer, which looks harmless enough until the swings are lifted 30 metres into the air, providing the perfect view of the showgrounds.
Returning favourites, the Mega Drop Ride, Skywalker and the Thunderbolt - which is billed as 'Australia's fastest ride' - promise plenty of adrenalin-packed fun this year.
But if these rides sound a little scary, there's always the cup and saucer ride in Kiddie Land.
