AUSTIN Cove Baptist College cooked up a storm for charity last Friday, with food from lots of different countries on offer.
Following the theme ‘around the world’, students organised a fundraising buffet for staff members to contribute to the school’s donation to Operation Christmas Child.
Operation Christmas Child aims to deliver 320,000 shoeboxes full of gifts to children in south-east Asia and the south Pacific.
Gift ideas include items for school like books and pencils, soft toys, tennis balls, clothes and personal hygiene items.
The school already has donations organised but needed to raise more than $4500 to ship the items.
Business students helped turn the event into a fundraiser and through donations from staff and other events throughout the year, Austin Cove have reached their goal.
The buffet included pavlova, sushi, spaghetti bolognaise and zucchini slice.
