A FOURTH man has faced court charged over the brutal bashing of a Mandurah man last month.
Gareth Jay Hitchcock made a brief appearance in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
He has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to the August 3 incident which left a man in hospital.
Mr Hitchcock was not required to plead but had his bail varied to allow him to consume alcohol and to enter licensed premises not in the Mandurah area.
He joins Craig Thomas Hitchcock, Calem Milburn-Thomas and Lochlan Milburn-Thomas who have all been charged over the assault.
The court heard earlier this month the four men were part of a larger group expelled from the pub following an altercation with another patron about 10pm on the night of the attack.
Murphy’s staff members were forced to lock the doors and call police when the group failed to calm down.
Shortly after being evicted the four accused are alleged to have bashed a group of men so badly two were knocked out and one required emergency medical care and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital.
CCTV footage of the assault was said to be “quite horrific to watch”.
All four men will face court again on October 3.
