TWO Barragup horse riders will head to Victoria next month to represent Western Australia in the Equestrian Australia Interschool Championships.
Brittany Porter and Shakira Hartley are in year 10 at Mandurah Catholic College and said they were looking forward to the event which will be held in Werribee.
Brittany will compete in multiple events including novice dressage, show hunter, novice freestyle and EvA80, which involves a dressage test, a show-jumping course and a cross country section.
“I’m going to drive over with the two horses I’ll use in the competition – Leedale Kristov and Everlasting Impressions,” she said.
Shakira will head over early to train with a horse for the competition and will compete in elementary dressage, the working hunter and elementary freestyle.
The girls were selected after performing well at the State interschool event at Brigadoon in April.
