COODANUP Community College (CCC) is ready to celebrate Reconciliation Week on Tuesday with a range of activities through the school.
The college has more than 100 indigenous students who make up one fifth of the total school population.
“Every class will have a lesson about the day and what it means and then we’re going to have a sausage sizzle,” CCC Aboriginal and Islander education officer Luwanna Wilson said.
“The highlight of the day will be a big mural or message board, where everyone pins on a hand print and writes something on it to represent togetherness.”
The Ngalang Koondarm class, also known as the Indigenous Success class, helped to design the display and posters for this year’s celebration.
