Prisoner dies after jail assault
The man, whose age is not yet known, was allegedly assaulted at the Wooroloo Prison Farm about 6pm on Monday night.
St John Ambulance spokesman Dennis Bertoldo previously told the media ambulance officers attended a call from the prison, with officers transferring a prisoner with head trauma to Swan Districts Hospital.
The investigation is now being treated as a death in custody after the prisoner died late last night.
Major Crime Squad detectives are investigating the incident.
