COMMUTERS are being advised to avoid trains between 10.30am and 2.30pm on Wednesday as some Transperth staff members attend a stop-work meeting.

Public Transport Authority managing director Mark Burgess said some staff indicated they would attend a stop-work meeting at midday in a move that undermined the work of the PTA.
He said there was no guarantee services would be disrupted, but advised commuters to avoid trains as a precaution.
“We are currently in EBA negotiations and yesterday obtained an order from the Industrial Relations Commission instructing the staff at their posts," he said.
"However we believe they intend to ignore the order."
"The Public Transport Authority works hard to deliver reliable and efficient rail services and this action directly undermines that."
"At this stage it’s not clear exactly how many people will attend the stop work meeting, or the full extent of the impact on train services."
"However, given the uncertainty and the short notice provided to us, it is important we advise the public of this possible disruption."
He confirmed train services would resume as normal by peak afternoon travel times.
