BODDINGTON will experience the excitement of an international car rally in their town and be able to witness the cars challenge themselves over the historic 3 Jump Splash, formally known as the Bunnings or Sottico Jump.
Twenty-six rally teams will arrive in Boddington at 9.15am next Tuesday, April 22 and Boddington is ready for action.
Spectators will be able to meet the drivers at their regrouping point, the Boddington Old School on Bannister Road, throughout the day.
Free buses will ferry spectators to the spectator point or they can drive out to the rally just 10 kilometres from the town centre.
The first car is expected to pass through the first spectator point about 11am.
The cars will pass over the jump twice.
This rally was run in 2004 and is only held every 10 years.
Rally cars will parade along the main street and cars will participate in three stages in the Shire of Boddington.
The route started in Sydney on April 12 and is heading west before being airlifted in the giant Antonov transporter planes to Turkey while crews travel in a chartered passenger jet.
After Turkey, the rally will run through Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Italy and France before crossing to the UK where there will be a sting in the tail with stages on the Epynt Ranges in Wales before heading for London and the finish on May 11.
The entry fee for two people and their car is US$52,000
The 3 Jump Splash has been a favourite jump for Rally WA in past years and they are also in talks with Newmont Boddington Gold to secure the location for their rally in June this year.
