You know what I’m talking about, right?
The cute video of a cat opening a drawer; the dog that dives into the family pool and the elephants who remember each other after a billion years?
Sure, they’re sweet.
The first time.
Even the second time can sometimes manage to raise a smile.
But multiple viewings of the same videos are like Happy Days re-runs to me.
I’ve seen every episode at least a dozen times, and until I see a kitten in a leather jacket jumping a shark I won’t be impressed.
I love my work colleagues; I really do.
But this has to stop.
You can’t swing a cat in here for all the cuteness.
One particular co-worker who shall remain nAMYless has taken to bombarding our inboxes with a pug of the day.
Every day.
I could manage a pug a year, probably.
And even then only if another anonymous co-worker would stop sharing pics of chickens in tutus with me and just let it BRI.
I’m all pugged out.
I’m chickened out.
And I’m definitely kittened out.
As Fonzie would say – cool it!
My colleagues tell me to stop having a grumble.
Then they reliably inform me the collective noun for a group of pugs is a grumble.
I can’t win.
The only collective noun coming to mind for me right now is that which describes a group of crows.
They have been warned…
