Secret Harbour resident Alfreda Screaigh turned 100 on July 28 and says she thinks it’s still as important as ever to get regular hearing checks.
“I was going deaf, so I come here [for check-ups],” she said.
A visitor to the clinic since 2008, Ms Screaigh was presented with flowers by clinic staff to celebrate her milestone birthday.
She said she had had three birthday parties to mark her 100 years and puts her long and healthy life down to no alcohol, no smoking and country air.
Hearing Awareness Week runs from August 25-31.
