A 36-year-old Mandurah man said he “had no recollection” of threatening to kill a woman while brandishing a baseball bat, when he appeared in court this morning.
Chad Daniel Delfs pleaded guilty in the Mandurah Magistrates Court to two counts of threatening to injure a person and one count of being armed in a way that may cause fear.
The defence lawyer told the court Delfs cried when he heard the police facts from the night of January 22, that said he behaved in a “crazy” manner for 15 minutes and told two victims he would kill them.

He said Delfs was on a concoction of drugs and medication at the time, and his behaviour was uncharacteristic as he had no prior record.
Delfs had seen a psychologist several times since the incident and was a low risk to re-offend, the defence lawyer said.
Prosecuting sergeant Mick Fallows told the court Delfs made “top of the range” threats and a substantial fine was adequate.
Magistrate Anne Longden said the incident would have been “terrifying” for the victims. She took into account Delf’s rehabilitation efforts.
Delfs was dealt a $3000 fine with $100 costs.
