“Action” Jackson England kept his record unblemished and honoured his late grandfather when he took down Queensland fighter Praising Wishuma with a ferocious left hook in front of a packed out Metro City crowd at Thunderdome 24 over the weekend.
I managed to get an opening and it ended at that, so we’re all feeling pretty good about the result

England picked up his fourth straight win with the referee ending the fight in the middle of the second round, picking up more speed for his already motoring hype train as one of Western Australia’s best boxing prospects.
England landed a set of blows that floored Wishuma early in the second, before a final storm ended the fight to secure him another win.
The Mandurah-based fighter dedicated the performance to his late grandfather, with the date of the fight marking a year since his passing.
“It was the one-year anniversary of my grandfather’s death and I wanted to win for him and my entire family,” he said.
“They support me and love me so much, so that one goes out to them.”
Before the fight:
England landed an early strike in the first round that he said caught Wishuma’s attention, before going on to show his class in the second.
“I landed a right hook, and the look in his eyes, he looked like he wanted to rip my head off,” he said.
“I don’t know if he expected much from me going into the fight, so I wanted to make sure that by the end of it he wasn’t underestimating me.
“I managed to get an opening and it ended at that, so we’re all feeling pretty good about the result.”
A state title fight is the next bout on England’s calendar, as he now enters preparation to fight Richard Lockett for the WA featherweight state title at Thunderdome 25.
The local lad said he was thrilled to have the opportunity to challenge for his first title.
“It’s such an exciting time for me and my fight team,” he said.
“I feel like I’ve got a good grasp on the professional circuit after four fights and I’m ready to challenge for a title, so to get the chance is huge for me.”
England will fight Lockett at Metro City on Friday, May 11.
