This weekend was a big one for the Peel region.
Not only did we have some of the best days for public events on record, two of our business people were recognised as Western Australian leaders.
All this adds up to the inevitable conclusion that Mandurah and the Peel region is now the happening place to be in Western Australia.
Locals and visitors were spoiled for choice when it came to a weekend out, and no matter if their interest was on the land, at sea, or in the air, the region had them covered.
In Mandurah, the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show was a smorgasbord of everything boaties and fishers could ever dream of.
It drew visitors from around the State and provided a regular and much needed cash injection into the local economy.
The Waroona Agricultural Show put the best our land had to offer on centre stage; from prize-winning livestock to produce to craft, the show was an exhibition that drew in people from the region and beyond.
And at Murray Field the WA Aerobatics Championships saw some of the nation’s best pilots fight it out in the skies over Nambeelup.
It will only be a matter of time before this event becomes a major air show, drawing serious crowds to the region.
Friday night, two Mandurah women were recognised in the 2015 Telstra Business Womens’ Awards.
April Armstrong from Mandurah Obstetrics and Julie Murray from Mandurah Taxis proved that the region has award-winning business leaders in its midst.
It has not been a secret that the Peel region has much to offer, but the good news is just how much is getting bigger and better.
