Halls Head Primary School students are focusing on greening their garden this term for a six-week environmental program.
A number of year six students met with physical education teacher Adrian Perry on Tuesday afternoon who coordinated the first planting in the school garden.
“Each child will plant bush tucker and native scrub,” Mr Perry said.
“We will be planting benches in the future and want to make this area a really great place for classes to utilise.”
He said the students would also be growing vegetables.

Bunnings Warehouse Halls Head donated gift cards worth $200 for the school to purchase plants and attended the first planting day.
The students would be responsible for on-going monitoring and maintenance of the plants.
