Mandurah Forum worked with retailers to host the event on Tuesday evening, creating about 160 opportunities for the local community.
The event gave people an opportunity to connect with employers face-to-face and apply for available job opportunities.
After ‘desperate, distressing’ scenes at the centre’s last jobs fair, organisers decided to create three location throughout the centre to cater for a larger number of job seekers.
It is estimated upon completion the new centre will have created a minimum of 700 ongoing retail, hospitality and service jobs.
With approximately 160 jobs available across 22 businesses, of which approximately 100 roles are within the Food & Beverage industry, over 1,500 “meet and greets” took place between enthusiastic job seekers and retailers at yesterday’s Jobs Fair, ensuring that everyone who came to meet potential employers, were able to.

Mandurah Forum Centre Manager Jacqueline McKenzie said she was impressed by the level of preparation the job seekers had undertaken before meeting with their retailers of choice.

“I am very excited to welcome a diverse range of people and skills to the team of retailers at Mandurah Forum in the coming months as we approach the grand opening.”

“The jobs fair meant that Universal Store was able to interview a vast range of applicants that were suited to the jobs we have available in the opening of our new store.
“We had a very enjoyable and productive time at the event yesterday.”
Ribs and Burgers, Zambrero and Wild Sea Australian Seafood shared in approximately 100 roles available within the Food & Beverage area which saw over 650 “meet and greets” with enthusiastic job seekers.
