Clubs in the Peel Football and Netball League are hard at work on the training track preparing for what could be the league’s biggest netball season to date in 2018.
Entering the fourth year since the netball and football leagues came together, the PFNL will welcome the Rockingham Rams back to the competition with all clubs to be represented on the court.
PFNL director Deb Clancy said the league was thrilled about the upcoming season.
“It’s a really exciting time with every club really buying into the netball aspect this year,” she said.
“It’s great for us to have Rockingham back in the league given how successful they’ve been in the past, and each team is shaping up quite well so it should be a very competitive competition.”
Waroona took top honours in the league grand final last year, claiming a narrow win over Pinjarra.
But South Mandurah loom as possible improvers for the coming season, after securing the coaching services of experienced Peel region netball figure Naomi Pannell.
Pannell will also spend time advising the committee.
The league was also excited to have the likes of Helen Vergone helping out around the umpiring department.
“To have people like Naomi and Helen around our league is going to add so much netball experience for us,” Clancy said.
“It really helps us take the league to new heights when you have people like that pitching in for us.”
Clubs around the league are currently holding trials and pre-season training sessions.
Anyone looking to get involved can contact their local club directly, or message their Facebook page.
