We put a range of products head to head, calculating the approximate number of teaspoons of sugar in each. (A level teaspoon of sugar is 4.2 grams.)
Of course, their sugar content is not the only contributor to their kilojoule counts, and some of these foods may also offer nutrients such as vitamins and proteins. We're not telling you which one is healthier, just which has the most sugar.
The sugar content of all of these products are deemed "free" sugars, of which the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends no more than 12 teaspoons a day, ideally six for added health benefits. Australians currently average 14. See the Australian Dietary Guidelines here.
