A 26-year-old Mandurah man has faced court charged with the murder of a 19-year-old woman on New Year's Eve.

Junior Fayiah Carlos made a brief appearance in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to reappear on January 31.
Police charged him with the murder of the woman after her body was discovered in an Aldgate Street home on New Years Eve.
The street was cordoned off while detectives and forensics officers scoured the scene, and an investigation ran until the early hours of the morning.
Shortly after the discovery, police arrested the man, who was known to the woman.
A police spokesperson said Mr Carlos was 25-years-old at the time of the alleged incident.
His birthday was on January 1.
A WA Police spokesman said investigations were ongoing.
