Seniors from across the Peel region are set for a night of boot-scooting fun at this year’s Spring Hoedown.
The event, which is organised by the Shire of Murray as part of Seniors’ Week, will be held at the Pinjarra Civic Centre on November 2.
The event will kick off at 4pm and it will include an evening of country-western themed poker, line dancing, gallery shooting and photo booth fun, with live music by Freight Train to ignite boot-scooters through to the 7pm close.

Drinks will also be available to purchase at club prices throughout the night.
According to the Shire’s chief Dean Unsworth, the Hoedown is an opportunity for the region’s residents to enjoy entertainment while socialising with fellow community members.
“The Spring Hoedown event aims to encourage participation in community life and promote positive attitudes towards ageing,” he said.
“Over 55’s should attend to celebrate their valued contribution to our community.”
Tickets to the event are $5 each and include dinner.
Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting the Shire of Murray’s Community Development team on (08) 9531 7777.
This year’s Seniors Week will also provide an opportunity for senior residents to brush up on their first aid skills during a St John Ambulance Seminar at Murray Library.
Other activities for Seniors’ Week include the Build your Balance Information Session at the Murray Leisure Centre on 1 November, and the Murray Library’s Intergenerational Story Time event on November 2.
