Three men who tried to flee an alleged burglary in Perth's south on Saturday night have been caught by police after being heat-tracked by a police helicopter.
Police were called to a burglary in Maddington around 11pm, with several patrol cars sighting a Holden Adventra allegedly carrying the trio.
Police Air Wing tracked the three men as a stinger device was deployed on Hale Road in Wattle Grove, popping two of the car's tyres.
The men were then tracked by Air Wing heat detector cameras abandoning the car, splitting up and attempting to flee the scene on foot.
They jumped several fences, with one man crashing into a wired fence in the dark of night.
Police have since arrested three men who will face court on Monday.
"One of the occupants, a 27-year-old man from Forrestfield, was taken into custody after he attempted to hide in a tree," a police spokesman said.
"The man was detained, and during his arrest he received a bite wound from a police dog.
"A second man, a 19-year-old man from Armadale, was taken into custody in the rear yard of a property on Welshpool Road East."
Another 19-year-old man was arrested on Sunday.
The men face a string of charges including armed robbery, home burglary and stealing.
The 27-year-old man, who was driving has also been charged with failing to stop, no authority to drive and stealing a motor vehicle.
