A curious kangaroo stopped by the Mandurah peninsula on Wednesday morning, leaving concerned onlookers wondering just exactly how it managed to get there.
Local resident Gerald Brittain said the kangaroo startled more than a few morning walkers near the intersection of Vivaldi Drive and Galileo Loop.
“Used to walking up to dolphins in the Estuary,” he said.
“But a lost big ol’roo? He surprised many this morning.”
Mr Brittain said he called the ranger and animal rescue out of concern for the animal as he didn’t want him injured by the morning traffic.
It is understood the kangaroo made a safe return to a more natural habitat.
