Mandurah Detectives are investigating an attack on a mother and her baby daughter in Halls Head which happened early Thursday morning.
At about 4.50am, police were called to the apartments on Apollo Road where the mother and child had been assaulted by a man.
The 20-year-old mother from Falcon and her infant daughter were staying at the apartments.
They sustained minor injuries to their faces and hands and both were taken to hospital for examination.
The man was not at the scene when police arrived.
He is described as 20-30 years old, slim build, dark hair, possible black hair that is short on sides and long on top, unshaven, wearing checker long sleeve shirt, dark t-shirt, light coloured jeans, black shoes with white soles.
Police have released a CCTV image of person that may be able to assist in the investigation.
