Two people have been taken into custody following a pursuit in Mandurah on Thursday morning.
About 9am officers from Regional Investigations Unit observed a stolen black Hyundai Elantra on Gordon Road in Greenfields.
The vehicle was stolen from Kelmscott on August 12.
Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle but it sped away.
An evade police incident commenced, with it continuing for around 15 minutes. As the vehicle approached stationary traffic at road works on Murdoch Drive, Greenfields it collided with four other vehicles, causing significant damage to two of them. Members of the public in those vehicles escaped injury.
The two males in the stolen vehicle fled the scene. The passenger, a 44-year-old man from Gosnells, was apprehended by nearby workers and subsequently by police.
The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old man from Orelia, fled and was located by police in a nearby house.
He suffered a leg injury as a result of being apprehended by a police dog and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Rockingham detectives have taken carriage of the investigation and will conduct inquiries into a number of matters.
The passenger will be charged with stealing a car and possession of stolen property.
The driver is yet to be charged, pending medical treatment.
