A $5000 donation from the City of Mandurah got tails wagging at K9 rescue on Tuesday morning.
Mandurah mayor Marina Vergone handed the cheque to K9 Rescue president Carol Carter at the local pound, where she had the chance to meet one of the latest dogs that arrived to the facility.
The donation is part of the City’s ongoing support for the not-for-profit, which uses the funds to care for and re-home abandoned dogs.
K9 was established in 1990 to care for abandoned, abused and mistreated dogs in the region, and since its creation more than 20 years ago has re-housed thousands of pets.
The organisation also provides advice to residents and promotes responsible pet ownership.
