The owners of Mandurah Caravan and Tourist Park have joined forces with a Perth based caravan venture to manage an ambitious $7.5 million development of Lancelin South Caravan Park.
The development aims to be one the best holiday caravan parks in Western Australia, according to the Experience Holiday Parks group.
The staged project would boost tourism to the area with facilities which would include a nautical themed playground and the largest jumping pillow in WA.
“These new facilities will ensure round year protection from the windy elements that sometimes preclude longer stays in the area and will encourage and support other business startups which can maximize the extended visitor stays, which is a win/win for the region,” Experience Holiday Park director Reg Cocking said.
Mr Cocking said the regional area had been untapped for its natural amenity and family based attractions, which included four-wheel driving, surfing, sandboarding and fishing tours.
The announcement was welcomed by the Shire of Gingin, which approved the project and hoped for an influx of 1000 patrons to the park during the peak tourist season.
“We are so pleased to announce the refurbishment the Lancelin South Caravan Park,” Shire of Gingin chief executive Jeremy Edwards said.
“The new lessees are well known industry leaders and successful tourist park operators in Perth and Mandurah.
“They bring their much-needed expertise and knowledge to our local area to grow our towns and regional economy.”
The Experience Holiday Parks group would undertake the management of the Lancelin South Caravan Park, from July 1, 2017.
