The Mandurah Netball Association has been boosted with a whopping 38 new umpires completing their introduction programs and refereeing games this season.
The association took 10 umpires to the Smarter Than Smoking WA Championships earlier this month, with Claire Dixon, Gabby Sutton, Jayme Burkett, Monica Reinhardt, Monique Rimmer, Sara Sutton, Sharon Ellis and Steph Bird all chosen to officiate finals matches at the carnival.
Gemma Craig (MCC), Sierra Smith (Marines) and Georgie Scott (Silverette) have all moved up in the umpiring ranks this season as well, obtaining their national C badges.
The badge is the first form of national accreditation in netball umpiring.
Anyone interested in umpiring can call the association on 9581 5054.
The Mandurah Netball Association has also opened nominations for its volunteer award.
The award is an annual accolade handed out at the grand final of every winter season.
Nomination forms can be found at the association’s office on Thompson Street.
