The man accused of murdering teenager Hayley Dodd appeared in Western Australia’s Supreme Court on Monday, where he again pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Francis John Wark appeared via video-link from Acacia Prison.
In December, 2015, he entered a plea of not guilty to the 17-year-old's murder and has been in custody since.
His lawyer said Mr Wark would be applying to have the matter heard by a judge alone instead of a jury.
Trial dates have been set aside for October, but Mr Wark’s lawyer said he would have to review the evidence disclosed by the prosecution before committing to the dates.
Mr Wark was remanded in custody to appear again in March.
