Mandurah Liberal candidate quits over ‘Office Nazi’ tweets | ELECTION 2017

A Liberal spokesman said the party would now look for a replacement candidate just days away from the formal start of the campaign.

On Monday, Mr Forbes shut down his Twitter accounts, but not before his comments on the social media platform were revealed.

In two tweets implying that women were bad employees, Mr Forbes said: “Don’t forget to watch out for the Office Nazi, often disguised as a woman” and “How will you know that she is an Office Nazi?”

The tweets linked a story about avoiding “toxic employees” and avoiding “unnecessary business drama”.

On January 20, Mr Forbes also referred to ABC journalists covering US President Donald Trump’s inauguration “full throated dumb female pundits” who displayed “ignorance & prejudice”.

Prime Minister and federal leader of the Liberal party Malcolm Turnbull also came under fire from the Liberal candidate.

Mr Forbes, a former staffer for Palmer United senator Dio Wang, called Mr Turnbull’s decision to call a double dissolution “egotistical” and “misguided” and said no-one could name a single achievement of the Prime Minister as he approached his first anniversary in office in September, 2016.

“How can we keep a Prime Minister who is a laughing stock?” he wrote just before 6am on July 2, 2016, the day of the last federal election.

“Mocking Malcolm will be a public pastime.”

He further unloaded on former innovation minister Wyatt Roy, a key supporter of Mr Turnbull who lost his seat in the election.

“Innovation advice for ex-MP, ex-minister Wyatt Roy: Now, go get a real job, learn about real people and the limitations of articulate BS,” he wrote on election day.
