Police have received more than 70 calls to Crime Stoppers since Tuesday's fresh public appeal into the murder of Gerard Ross in Rockingham in 1997.
The cold case has gone unsolved for almost 20 years but on Tuesday police revealed they were hopeful of a breakthrough.
Detectives said they had new lines of inquiry into the 11-year-old's abduction and murder and that they had identified several new persons of interest.
On Thursday, a WA Police spokesman told WAtoday there had "been a good response from the public" since Tuesday.
"As of lunchtime today (Thursday) we have received some 75 calls through Crime Stoppers," the spokesman said.
"Detectives from the Special Crime Squad are now working through that information."
Gerard was abducted near Kent Street in Rockingham on the morning of October 14, 1997 with the intention of visiting a local comic book store.
His brother, who was on roller blades, went ahead having agreed to meet Gerard there.
But shortly after, Gerard went missing.
His body was later found in Karnup about 20 kilometres from Rockingham on October 28, 1997.
Nobody has been charged in connection to his death.
On Tuesday police held a press conference in Rockingham to release new information about the case.
Acting Detective Inspector Jon Munday, from the Special Crime Squad, said a comprehensive review of the case file had been carried out in 2014.
He said the review had opened up new lines of inquiry "which police hope will lead to a breakthrough."
"Whilst police have spoken to almost 1200 witnesses during this investigation, we believe there are others with information who have not yet come forward for their own reasons," Acting Inspector Munday said.
"We ask those people to re-consider their position given the passage of time and potential changes in allegiances and circumstances."
Gerard's mother Cyrese also released a statement on Tuesday.
"We make this appeal on behalf of Gerard and ask you to provide any information, no matter how small or insignificant. Please come forward as it can make the difference to Gerard's life and give him the justice he deserves," the statement read.
A $100,000 reward for information about Gerard's murder still remains.
On Tuesday, police also asked people to come forward if they had any knowledge of a New York Yankees baseball cap Gerard was wearing at the time he went missing.
The cap is the only personal item of his which has never been located.
Investigators are also seeking to identify the driver of a beige or cream coloured sedan that approached a young boy waiting at a Kent Street bus stop near the Rockingham public library a few weeks before Gerard disappeared.
