Peel region football product Harley Bennell is back on the training track for the Fremantle Dockers after travelling to Munich for treatment on a troublesome calf with renowned surgeon Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.
The injury-riddled midfielder looked in great shape as he continues his attempt to return to the playing field, jogging at Fremantle Oval with teammates.
Despite spending a year on the Dockers’ list already after being traded from the Gold Coast, the Pinjarra product is hoping he can effectively be a new recruit for Fremantle after spending all last season nursing his injured calf.
He, along with fellow recruits Brad Hill, Shane Kersten, Cam McCarthy and Joel Hamling, could breathe new life into a Dockers outfit looking to rebuild.
The Dockers will play their first pre-season match against West Coast in Geraldton on February 26, before hitting Mandurah to play their second against Collingwood at Rushton Park.
