A fire is bearing down on homes near Brunswick, south of Perth.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a 'watch and act' for people in the residential parts of Roelands and Brunswick in the Shire of Harvey on Monday afternoon.
More than 50 firefighters have been sent to the blaze which started at the corner of Waterloo and Government Roads, Roelands just after 11am.
Water bombers have also been sent to the south west to protect homes with the fire already having burned through eight hectares.
The cause of the blaze which at this stage is unknown but DFES said there is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is approaching in the area and wind conditions are changing.
People in the area are being urged to leave or get ready to actively defend.
