A Mandurah man convicted of driving under the influence for the second time has been put off the road for 30 months.
Christopher Iain Meakin pleaded guilty in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday to the offence which happened in Erskine on October 16, 2016.
The court heard Meakin was driving on Wattleglen Avenue about 8.10pm when he was stopped by police.
He was taken back to the police station where he registered a blood alcohol content of .244gm.
Meakin’s licence was suspended on the spot.
Counsel for Meakins said her client, who had been drinking with a friend, had a number of health issues and understood he “probably shouldn’t have been driving”.
On top of the disqualification, Meakins was fined $2100 and ordered to pay costs of $98.50.
