Pinjarra residents put their fitness to the test to raise money for charity in an Evolve Martial Arts kick-a-thon last month.
Both children and adults got their legs moving, attempting to put in the most kicks and knees of any participant.
For every ten kicks performed, sponsors donated 50 cents while five knees earned a donation of 20 cents.
A few students went well in to two hours, with one adult notching 4000 kicks and some children tallying over 2000 kicks.
All up, the kick-a-thon raised over $2000, which will go directly to the The Kids’ Cancer Project and Cancer Council Australia.
Evolve Martial Arts owner Steve Black labelled the day a huge success.
“All the students involved gave their best effort for a great cause and I'm very proud of each and everyone of them,” he said.
Instructor Taryn Dyer said it was heartening to see so many people rally for the fundraiser.
“It was so great to watch and be a part of this fundraiser and see how many students got behind this worthy cause,” she said.
“We have seen students and families personally affected by cancer, so this is definitely something that we are proud to get behind and raise as much money as we can.”
Evolve Martial Arts will be holding a different fundraiser each year to raise money towards a nominated charity organisation.
