There has been a large turn out for Perth's Sunday afternoon Pokemon Go pub crawl, however numbers were significantly less than anticipated.
On the event's Facebook page more than 2,500 people said they'd be turning up to take part in the pub crawl, which began at Hyde Park at 3pm.
However, a significantly smaller amount of players showed up with the final number expected to be between 200 and 300 people.
Organiser Nick Steuart wasn't surprised by the number of people who turned up.
"We had 2,500 say they were going to turn up on our Facebook page but we never really expected that," he said.
"I was expecting between 200 and 300 and I think we might get that. That is a much easier number to organise," he said.
Tim Leatt-Hayter and Angela Lim heard about the pub crawl on Facebook.
"It's a win win situation for us. I get to hunt Pokemon and he gets to drink," said Angela.
"I'm crazy about it. I downloaded the app on the first day it was available. I've been to Kings Park a few times as well as the South Perth foreshore and Subiaco."
The organisers will be dividing competitors into teams before they set off to visit The Hyde Park Hotel, The Queens Hotel, The Brisbane Hotel, The Game Sports Bar, The Skye Bar, The Aviary Bar, The Generous Squire Brewhouse and the Brass Monkey Hotel.
And the hotels were throwing themselves into the spirit of the chase by inventing a range of Pokemon cocktails made especially for the event.
Pubs lined up to be included in the Sunday session in the hope of cashing in on the craze which is sweeping the country.
Organiser Nick Steuart said the popularity of the event meant there had been a lot to organise.
"I'm actually talking with a ... video game based events corporation... and we were thinking of doing a circular route where each faction starts at a different start point and everyone just rotates through the pubs," he said.
The pub crawl follows several warnings from police for game players not to drive while playing Pokemon GO and to be aware of their surroundings, particularly roads, when chasing the imaginary monsters.
Mr Steuart has echoed the concerns from police, often reminding the more than 10,000 fans on the Pokemon GO Perth Facebook page to play safely.
"We've been posting on the page for people not to play while they're driving, not to play in the middle of the street," he told Radio 6PR.
"We actually had someone as we were leaving [Kings Park], mount the curb to try and drive out and almost run us over.
