Aldi’s entry into the local shopping market has raised curiosity lately, with the latest mystery being the large, stainless steel vats behind Aldi Mandurah on Anstruther Road.
Well, worry no more: the answer is in, and it’s nothing too controversial.
The two tanks are – as many probably surmised – rainwater collection tanks, there to be used in case of a fire.
“The tanks located outside the store have been installed to supply water for fire protection purposes,” an Aldi spokesperson said.
“At Aldi, the safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority.”
The Mandurah store is scheduled to open on Wednesday, July 13.
The Halls Head store opened earlier this month.
