Waroona defeat South Mandurah
The Demons took out a win in their first home game of the season when they toppled South Mandurah on Sunday.
Waroona played the first nine weeks of the season away from their home turf after it was left ravaged from the January bushfires.
The homecoming was a welcome one as the Demons were able to stretch a game clear of the Falcons into fourth spot on the ladder with a 14.9 (93) to 11.9 (75) win.
The game was neck-and-neck throughout the first three quarters with Waroona only holding a three-point lead at the final change.
But the Demons pulled away in the fourth quarter and kicked three goals to South Mandurah’s zero to take the win.
The Demons sit in fourth and will play the first-placed Baldivis next week.
Pinjarra defeat Centrals
Centrals missed the chance to upset a top-three side when they were dealt a narrow defeat by Pinjarra on Saturday.
Poor kicking saw Centrals miss many opportunities in the game, as Pinjarra claimed an 11.7 (73) to 8.18 (66) win.
Both sides found it hard to break away for the majority of the match, with Mundijong holding a two-point lead the three-quarter-time.
But a classy final quarter from the Tigers lifted them to victory as they booted three goals to one in the fourth.
Blake Lee starred for Pinjarra while Paul Mugumbwa was dominant for Centrals.
Bladivis defeat Mandurah
The Brumbies now boast a perfect ten record after they kept their undefeated streak alive with a win over wooden spoon favourites Mandurah on Sunday.
The two sides played similar first halves with both struggling in the first quarter but exploding in the second.
Each had six goals at half time and the sides were separated by just two points.
But Baldivis shone out in the second half, booting 13 goals to Mandurah’s three and taking a 9.6 (60) to 19.9 (123) win.
Baldivis is two games clear on top with a 10-0 record, while Mandurah is three wins off seventh spot with an 0-10 record.
Halls Head defeat Rockingham
A five-goal last quarter buoyed Halls Head to a 32-point win over Rockingham on Sunday.
A win would have seen Rockingham equal with South Mandurah in fifth, but the Rams were not able to overcome a strong Halls Head outfit.
Rockingham trailed by just 14 points at three-quarter-time, but could not keep pace as Jesse Gribble and Josh Bowe led Halls Head to a 13.13 (91) to 8.11 (59) win.
Halls Head remains two games behind Baldivis who sit in top spot, while Rockingham sits in sixth with a 3-7 record.
