THE FORUM has been awash with colour this week, with Queensland artist and Art Studio television show host Wayne Clements taking up residence outside Woolworths.
The popular artist is aiming to paint 41 landscapes before a raffle draw and auction of his work on Saturday at noon.
Working quickly to produce his colourful, semi-realist paintings draws a sweat from Clements’ brow, but he is motivated by his fundraising cause, CareFlight, a national charity delivering quality healthcare to remote Australians.
It is Clements’ first time in Western Australia, though he has spent 27 years visiting shopping centres around the country to entertain passers-by with his live art experience.
When asked how he finds painting in the unlikely environment of a shopping centre, he said: “If that’s how people are going to see you, what can you do?".
See Clements at work in the Mandurah Forum before Saturday.
