THE Peel Thunderbirds will be raising money for the Yarloop Bushfire Appeal during the Fremantle Dockers’ opening NAB Challenge game against Richmond in Mandurah on Friday.

More than 40 players, parents and supporters from the Thunderbirds volunteered their time to help out during the match-up to raise money for their club.
However, after being approached from the Harvey Shire they will also be shaking tins for those affected by the bushfires.
The Thunderbirds will be parking cars, ushering and be on the kiosk so patrons can keep an eye out for the donation tins.
Funds for new Thunderbirds training shirts will be raised through the kiosk and car park.
The club wanted to thank the AFL for letting them fundraise during the game.
The game will be a chance for Fremantle to showcase some of its up-and-coming players including new recruits Darcy Tucker and Sam Collins.
New recruit and Peel Thunder-product Harley Bennell is still overcoming a calf issue and will not play.
With the Dockers aligned to the Thunder a number of players featuring in the game will spend time playing for the WAFL club.
For Richmond, former Thunder player Kamdyn McIntosh will return to his old home ground.
The Fremantle versus Richmond clash is the second game of the NAB Cup fixture and will kick off at 4.10pm on Friday.
General admission tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for children, $5 for juniors and $40 for a family of two adults and up to four juniors under 15 if available.
The NAB Challenge gets underway tonight with Hawthorn taking on Carlton.
