SOCIAL media went into meltdown yesterday as temperatures across Western Australia set February records.
In Mandurah, the mercury reached 40 degrees just before 4pm, setting a new record for February - beating 2005's record of 39.5.
Twitter, Facebook and more were covered in "how hot is it?" remarks as practically everyone tried to escape the heat, which was tipped by some sources to reach a practical level of 50 degrees in some suburbs.
The conversation is likely to continue on this track as temperatures are expected to hover around the high 30s until the weekend.
