A couple had to be rescued after their 10-metre boat hit rocks near Rottnest on Friday.
Fremantle Sea Rescue and Rottnest Rangers went to the scene and found the boat firmly wedged on rocks in front of Bathurst Lighthouse at Duck Rock.
Fremantle Sea Rescue skipper Tim Wright said it looked like the couple may have made a navigation error on their way into Thomson Bay.
"We had a go at pulling the boat off the rocks but it soon became clear that it was not moving," he said.
"It was decided to leave the boat where it was overnight and wait for high tide on Saturday to try to refloat her."
The hull of the boat was not damaged in the grounding.
The couple on board were taken to Rottnest by the local rangers and stayed overnight.
