A blaze in Baldavis that had threatened homes and lives has eased and the alert level downgraded.
A watch and act alert had been issued to people who live in an area bounded by Baldivis Road, Karnup Road, Serpentine Road and Kwinana Freeway in Baldivis in the City of Rockingham - but the level has since been downgraded to bushfire advice.
There is no longer a threat to lives and homes but the Department of Fire and Emergency Services has warned that there is still smoke in the area.
A DFES spokeswoman, however, advised people in the area to remain vigilant.
"Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes," she said.
The bushfire is said to be contained but not under control and is still moving slowly.
Since the initial alert was released it has been revealed the fire, which started about 1.40pm on Sunday, began between Sixty Eight Road and Baldivis Road.
The cause of the fire remains unknown
