Comet Bay College showcased some of their best work at the high school’s annual Arts Expo on Tuesday night.
The expo invited parents to view art pieces, movies, dance performances and live singing and drama acts prepared by year 7 and 8 students during the last year.
Head of art Nadia Hall said the quality of work was extremely high this year and she was very proud to show it to the community.
“We have close to 500 pieces of art work hanging and two hours of dancing, singing and acting performances,” she said.
“Getting the students involved with different art mediums is important as it’s a great way for them to express themselves while being creative.”
Prizes were awarded to the best work with year 10 student Jessica Metcalf taking out the Principal’s Award and Mana Runnion the People’s Choice Award.
Year 12 student Ashley Pryer won the Arts Industry Award but was unable to collect her prize.
Perth artist Miriam Gardener presented the young artists with a box of creative stationery.
Principal Jamie Hayres said the school had a strong arts program and it was great to see so many parents at the expo.
