TWELVE Peel Aquatic Club swimmers have returned from the Kimberley after competing in the three-day Open Short Course Championships.
The swimmers, aged from seven to 21, competed in a number of events against local and interstate athletes in tough conditions as temperatures reached 43 degrees.
Charlee Sheppard (12) competed in 14 races winning medals in all her events.
Charlee smashed the Kimberley All Comers Record (KACR) in the 400-metre individual medley by 10.41 seconds, winning gold in her age group.
The talented swimmer produced a hat trick in the three distances for the IM and breaststroke events in total winning eight gold medals and six silver medals.
Jasmin Allen (14) competed in 12 races and like Charlee won medals in all.
Jasmin showed her dominance in the breaststroke claiming gold in all three distances breaking the KACR by 7.44 seconds set in 2012 for the 200m. Jasmin finished with seven gold, three silver and two bronze.
Club captain Christopher Evans (19) entered 10 events, breaking three KACR.
In the 200m Breaststroke he knocked 3.69s of the previous record and broke the 200m freestyle record by 1.33s and 100m breaststroke by 1.16s.
He finished with eight gold medals and two silver medals after he was beaten by his brother Robert in the 50m freestyle and breaststroke.
Robert set a new KACR by 0.94 seconds in the breaststroke event.
Charlee and Jasmin were awarded joint intermediate overall girl champions based on their top seven performances and Christopher took out the overall senior male champion.
Joining Jasmin in the 13-14 age group were Marie Doyle (14) and Megan Larmour (13) who both competed in 10 events.
Marie won five gold, two silver and two bronze medals while Megan won three gold, four silver and a bronze.
Other Peel Aquatic club swimmers to go well included Finlay Larmour (11) who won six gold and three silver from his 10 races and Bo Allen (9) with four gold medals and a bronze.
Nine-year-old Ava Doyle won gold in the 50m breaststroke, Harry Sheppard (8) won silver in the 25m back and breaststroke and Lily Doyle, the youngest swimmer at just seven years old, won bronze in the 25m backstroke.
