A police chase through Perth's southern suburbs in the early hours of Saturday ended with a crash on Tonkin Highway.
Just after midday police began to pursue a Holden Commodore seen driving erratically in Cannington.
The chase went through several south-east suburbs and at one point the Commodore driver veered towards a police vehicle, which had to take evasive action to avoid a crash.
Police found the Holden crashed into another vehicle on Tonkin Highway in Maddington. It appears to have run a red light and hit another car. There were no injuries.
The male driver and female passenger were found on nearby Lancaster Place in Maddington.
Police have charged a 24-year-old Maida Vale man with reckless driving, having no driving licence, failing to stop, damaging property and possession of a controlled weapon.
