ROCKINGHAM-Mandurah Cricket Club product Sam Whiteman has broken through to record his first century for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield.
Playing against Queensland at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, WA looked in trouble in their first innings at 4/101 before Whiteman joined Shaun Marsh at the crease.
At lunch on day two the pair had both reached centuries to put WA in a strong position at 4/319.
Whiteman will look to add to his 110 from 228 balls when the game resumes after the break.
The The 22-year-old Rockingham-Mandurah and now WA wicket-keeper has been touted as a future Australian keeper and was part of the Perth Scorchers Twenty20 triumph over the Sydney Sixers.
